Relief is the emodiment of a range of my inner life: the panic and anxiety that hit me after a lull in studio time, followed by frantic inspiration and intense painting. There's a freedom and looseness in this piece that can only be described as inspired. This piece was my relief, a reminder that the magic of the universe flows through me and into my art.
