What a struggle it is to be human. The more I live, the more I pay attention. I spent many years on the surface, trying to present myself in ways that felt socially acceptable. But I was miserable and breaking, and it took a midlife awakening and a whole lot of painting to help me see the power in being myself, loving myself, and authentically not caring what others thought. Being able to be me, whether you like it or not: that’s a joyful, joyful way to live.
