Hi! I'm Patrick.

I'm an artist, illustrator, writer, and maker. Basically, I just make things (up).

Once upon a time, I was a seat filler on Canadian Idol (yes, it was a thing) and I was paid in subway tokens. After that, I blowdried the armpits of dancers on a Canadian kid's TV show (Four Square, anyone?). Don't forget my time wrangling audiences for the Red Green Show!

Then, I taught grades 2/3 and 5/6 for thirteen years.

Now? I'm raising four kids and making art full time, from my home studio in Prince Edward Island. I'm an Islander by Choice, moving here with my family after dreaming for too long and realizing during the pandemic that life is too short to wait until retiring to do what you love.

I also own Creative Rebel Studio, where I work with kids and adults to help them find their creative voices and build their skills as artists. I even get to play Shop Keep since we have a growing storefront! You can visit us in person at 538 Main Street in Montague, PEI.

I learned about storytelling - both with words and visually (in pictures) -  through rigorous, daily practice, reading (a lot) and studying television production at Ryerson University.

I wrote a manifesto about everything I believe to be true with art (and life). It's right here!

Keep up with me! I'm active on Facebook & Instagram, and you can get emails from me too - I love sending out free downloads and printables, and what I call "heart content" -- words to help you heal and grow your heart (and alleviate some self-induced stress, doubts, and fears).

If you live on, or are traveling around PEI, you'll find my work in The PEI Fox Den (North Bedeque - near Summerside!), Pigeons (Montague, PEI), Fox (Brackley), Moonsnail (Charlottetown), The Gallery Cafe & Bistro (Charlottetown), The Black & White Cafe (St. Peters Landing), Fritz Chocolates (St. Peters Landing), and in my own shop at 538 Main Street in Montague (Creative Rebel Studio). You'll also find my originals on display and for sale at 21 Breakwater in Souris.

A Few of my favourite things:

pizza

new books
freshly sharpened pencils

the kid's section of the book store

when my kids laugh

that elusive moment of inspiration

old books
the phrase "I have an idea!"

bright colours

coffee

and pizza.
