Teen Studio Class (July)

This class is for teen artists (13-19) who are ready to explore more independently. We'll start each class with a quick lesson on an element or principle of art & design, and then each artist will work on their own projects, with access to the materials of their choosing. Your art coach will be there to support and guide as requested and required.

Each artist will develop, plan, and execute their own art project that reflects something of importance to them. They'll be encouraged to slow down, make multiple attempts, and not settle for the first idea or product that comes to mind. They'll be encouraged to not plow through art materials; rather, to track progress and ideas in a sketch book, to develop a plan of action, and to create their project with intention and care. At the end of the session, we'll photograph and write artist statements for the projects, and we'll host an exhibition for the class's final works and an exploration of the process.
